The paper and electronic Camping Cheques are valid for the duration of the calendar year. Eg. from 1st January of year N until 31st December of N+1 or N+3 (for Gold Card electronic cheques).
Camping Cheques are generally accepted in low season. However, acceptance dates vary from site to site and from country to country. For example, some campsites accept Camping Cheques in July and August, as well! It is important to check the precise acceptance dates at the bottom of each page.
A Camping Cheque is a voucher which can be exchanged against one overnight stay for 2 people on any of the campsites listed in the Site Directory.
Yet, it does not always guarantee availabilities as some sites are often busy just before the high season and might at times be full.
For your convenience, you will find the full contact details of the campsite on the Site Directory and website so you can contact the campsites to ensure you will find a pitch available.
The electric hook-up is included in the price of the Camping Cheque. Guests are limited to 6 Amps, or 5 Kw per day; the supplement for extra kw must be paid on-site (some campsites supply an electric hook-up inferior to 6 Amps; for further information please contact the campsite directly). NB: you may be charged a supplement for winter camping and deluxe pitches. Hot showers are included in the price of the Camping Cheque on a majority of our campsites. However, on certain sites, in particular in countries such as Belgium, Scandinavia and The Czech Republic, there may be an extra charge for the shower. Generally speaking, a supplement may be requested on all campsites with a token- or coin-operated shower scheme.
Details concerning the campsite’s facilities and services are listed on the righthand side of each page. If these dates differ from the opening/closing dates of the campsite itself, the precise dates are indicated next to the item.
Each Camping Cheque campsite has its own rules and regulations. Camping Cheque customers must respect the particular rules of each individual campsite; e.g. the opening and closing times of the site barriers, on-site speed limits, parking rules, traffic circulation rules at certain times of the day (in particular during the site’s quiet hours), reception opening times (certain receptions may be closed at lunchtime). NB: Camping Cheque would like to inform its customers that over half of its member campsites ask that swimming trunks, and not shorts, be worn in the pools.
A Camping Cheque is valid for two people. Any additional persons in the party (adult or child) must pay the campsite directly at the site’s normal tariff.
The tourist tax varies according to the country, the region and the community normally 0,15€-0,80€ a day and per person. Exception: environment tax in certain countries (Denmark and Austria for example). In addition, some campsites may also charge a supplement for certain pitches, such as waterside or winter camping pitches. Some Austrian campsites indicated in the Site Directory charge a tax on electricity (set by the Austrian electric company “Tiwag”). This is a fixed sum the campsites must pay for each modification of their electric hook-up (that is, every time a motor home or a caravan is connected to an outlet). Thus, this tax is to be paid each time a new customer connects to the electrical hook-up. This tariff remains invariable, regardless of the length of stay (approx. 2€-3,50€ per stay/per pitch).
Most Camping Cheque campsites accept animals. Please refer to ‘General Info’ on the site’s page to discover whether or not your chosen destination accepts animals. If pets are allowed on-site, you are limited to one. On most Camping Cheque campsitesdogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Some campsites may refuse certain dog breeds (Pitbull, Rottweiler...). For further information please contact the site directly.
